About

I am an established musician and experienced piano, cello and music theory teacher based in South Hampstead, London.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, I have taught students from beginner level through to advanced stages, with many progressing to Grade 8 and beyond. My teaching combines structured musical training with practical insight from a professional performance career, helping students develop secure technique, musical understanding and confidence.

Alongside teaching, I work as a professional cellist. I have performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, St James’s Piccadilly, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Opera House, and have recorded at Abbey Road Studios and RAK Studios. This experience informs my teaching, particularly in helping students develop sound quality, musical expression, performance skills and a deeper understanding of style.

I trained at leading music schools and conservatoires in the UK and Europe, including The Purcell School, the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, the Basel Music Academy, Switzerland and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where I completed a Postgraduate Artist Diploma.

My lessons are carefully tailored to each student’s age, level and goals. For young beginners, I focus on building strong foundations in technique, rhythm, reading, listening and musical awareness. Lessons are structured and encouraging, helping children develop concentration, confidence and good practice habits from the start.

For students preparing for ABRSM and Trinity exams, I provide focused preparation in pieces, scales, sight-reading, aural skills, performance confidence and music theory. I also support students preparing for ABRSM Grade 5 Theory, including those who need a more intensive approach before an exam.

Adult learners are also welcome, whether returning to music after a break, learning for personal enjoyment, improving technique, or working towards graded exams.

My teaching style is calm, supportive and detailed. I aim to help students become independent musicians who can practise effectively, listen carefully and play with confidence and expression.
